Future Leaders Programme
At Our Lady of Mercy Secondary School, we are proud to offer students the opportunity to participate in the Future Leaders Programme, a nationally recognised initiative that promotes leadership, teamwork, confidence, and active participation within the school community.
The programme encourages students to take on meaningful leadership roles through the organisation of sporting events, blitzes, and school activities. Through these experiences, students develop valuable life skills including communication, teamwork, organisation, problem-solving, and responsibility, while also building confidence and resilience.
Students involved in the programme also have opportunities to explore areas such as sports photography, event promotion, match reporting, social media, and sports commentary, allowing them to develop creativity, digital skills, and public speaking abilities in a practical and engaging way.
The Mercy is extremely proud to have been awarded the Gold Future Leaders Award this year in recognition of the outstanding commitment, enthusiasm, and leadership shown by our students and staff. This achievement reflects the vibrant school spirit, positive student involvement, and strong sense of community that exists throughout our school.
Through programmes such as Future Leaders, we continue to encourage our students to become confident, capable, and valued leaders both within The Mercy and in the wider community.
