OUR STUDENTS
Welcome to Our Lady of Mercy Secondary School — a vibrant, inclusive, and caring school community where every student is encouraged to learn, grow, and achieve their full potential. Being a Mercy student means becoming part of a proud tradition built on respect, compassion, opportunity, and community. At The Mercy, we believe that education is about far more than examinations. We strive to support and develop the whole student — academically, socially, emotionally, spiritually, and personally — helping each young person to become confident, resilient, and prepared for the future. Our students are encouraged to embrace every opportunity school life has to offer. From academic achievement and leadership programmes to sports, arts, wellbeing initiatives, community involvement, and extracurricular activities, there is something for everyone at The Mercy. We are proud to provide a dynamic learning environment where students are supported to discover their talents, build friendships, and develop the skills needed for life beyond school.
At the heart of The Mercy is a strong sense of belonging and inclusion. We celebrate diversity, encourage kindness, and foster a culture where students feel safe, valued, and respected. Our dedicated staff work closely with students and families to ensure that every young person is supported on their individual journey.

Student Enterprise
At Our Lady of Mercy Secondary School, we are proud of our strong involvement in both the Junior and Senior Student Enterprise Programmes, which encourage creativity, innovation, teamwork, and entrepreneurial thinking among our students. Through these programmes, students gain valuable experience in developing business ideas, marketing products, managing finances, and presenting their work with confidence and professionalism.
This year has been a particularly successful one for The Mercy, with our students achieving outstanding success at competition level. We were delighted to win the Junior Regional Student Enterprise Award, along with the prestigious National Best Display Award, recognising the creativity, dedication, and hard work of our students and staff. These achievements reflect the vibrant learning environment at The Mercy and our commitment to providing students with meaningful opportunities to develop real-world skills and confidence for the future.
