Home School Liasion
At Our Lady of Mercy Secondary School, we believe that strong partnerships between home, school, and the wider community are central to student success and wellbeing. Our Home School Community Liaison (HSCL) service plays a vital role in fostering positive and supportive relationships with families and ensuring that every student feels connected, encouraged, and supported throughout their educational journey.
Our HSCL Coordinator works closely with students, parents, guardians, and staff to promote attendance, participation, engagement, and retention in school. Through open communication and collaboration, the HSCL supports families in overcoming barriers to education and helps strengthen the connection between home and school life.
The role includes supporting parents through regular communication, home visits where appropriate, parent workshops and courses, and signposting families to additional supports and community services when needed. The HSCL also works alongside external agencies and school supports to ensure students and families receive the guidance and assistance they need.
At The Mercy, we are proud of our caring and inclusive school community, where parents are valued as important partners in their child’s learning and development. Our HSCL service reflects our commitment to nurturing positive relationships and creating a welcoming environment for all families.
